Green Initiatives for Your Next Event

Show managers can help minimize the environmental impact of their events.  Here are a few best practices for creating sustainable events:

  1. Recycle everything
  2. Ask your venue for details on the green practices, including certifications
  3. Use technology to replace paper
  4. Reduce onsite printed materials
  5. Send email campaigns to attendees and exhibitors instead of printed materials
  6. Conduct green training and provide information using webinars or other online resources
  7. Think reusable when creating signage—don’t include event year, just logos
  8. Include questions during the RFP process on green standards
